What to expect
Bring the right gear, leave the rest at home
Bring
- Chapstick
- Sunscreen
- A filled water bottle (or three!)
- Snacks or treats for yourself
- Your phone, for pictures
- A good attitude
- Athletic shoes
- Fingerless weightlifting gloves (recommended)
Leave at home
- Your dog
- An empty water bottle
- Alcohol
- A bad attitude
- Sandals or crocs
- A dead phone
- Portable music
Waiver Required for All Hikers
Children 18 and under must have a completed waiver and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Kids age 10–18 may have a burro of their own, but their parent/guardian must have a burro as well. Children 9 & under may not have a burro of their own, and must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Quick answers
Can my friend or relative tag along? They don't need a donkey.
Unregistered, unpaid guests aren't invited to join the hike. If they'd like to pay for the experience and join, just give us more than 24 hours notice so we can make sure we have a donkey for them.
Can I ride the donkey?
Nope! These donkeys are not to be ridden. These majestic creatures are hardworking animals, and we wouldn't ask them to do anything we wouldn't ask of ourselves.
Can I bring my dog along for the adventure?
Nope! For the safety of both the donkey and the dog, please leave your K9 friends at home.
Can we shorten the hike by 30 minutes or so?
Absolutely! We tailor your experience on the trail to what you want — stop for photos, enjoy the view, whatever sounds good. Just say the word! Shortening the hike will not, however, reduce the price of your experience.
