Information we collect

When you book a hike or coaching session, submit an inquiry, or contact us, we collect the information you provide directly — typically your name, email address, phone number, party size or group details, and any notes or answers you share with us (including waiver signatures for guided hikes). We do not collect or store full payment card numbers; those are handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to confirm and manage bookings, process payments, communicate with you about your hike or session (confirmations, reminders, schedule changes), respond to inquiries, and keep required records like signed waivers. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with third parties except the service providers below, who help us run the business.

Service providers we use

  • Stripe — payment processing for deposits and balances.
  • Supabase — secure database hosting for booking and inquiry records.
  • Resend — delivery of booking confirmations and other transactional email.
  • Google Calendar — scheduling guided hikes.
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Google Analytics — anonymized website traffic and usage analytics, via cookies. You can opt out using your browser settings or a tool like the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (opens in a new tab).

Data retention

We keep booking, waiver, and inquiry records for as long as needed for business, safety, and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete personal information we hold about you by emailing crates.colorado@gmail.com, though we may need to retain some records (like signed waivers) where required by law or insurance.

Children's privacy

Our guided hikes welcome families, and a parent or legal guardian signs the waiver for any participant under 18. This website itself is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
